Missing Part of the Message? The Visual Description is Both Intentional and Necessary. It is Part of the Message As It Illuminates the Meaning of the Words That Were Spoken.

In the 1925 Apparition, Our Blessed Mother said to Lucia:

"Look My daughter, at My Heart, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce Me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude..."

"You at least try to console Me and announce in My name that I promise to assist at the moment of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep Me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making Reparation to Me."

To grasp the depth of what She is asking for She first invites Lucia to look at Her Immaculate Heart encircled with Thorns. To gaze on Her Immaculate Heart presented in this way was important for Lucia. But since we did not see the vision it is even more important for us to visualize Our Lady in this way because it takes our perception and response to a heightened level of engagement and encounter. I therefore present this painting as a visual aid to help you enter more deeply in experiencing the encounter of Our Blessed Mother in prayer and as an opportunity to contemplate and live Her messages more profoundly.
